& the community began to take shape, with a formal executive with powers to organise various activities, socials, & meetings on a firm & regular footing. as stipulated by our constitution, we have endeavoured to meet at least five or six times a year. the functions are usually, though not always, specific. they include a function to celebrate the iranian spring festival jamshed-e-navroz, on 21st of march each year.in accordance with the constitution, our agm is usually held in july. in the earlier days this was traditionally followed by a barbeque party. there is a function in august/september, to celebrate pateti (new year). some functions are arranged with the sole purpose for us all to have a good time & socialise with the community, enjoying good food & participating in music/dancing. events of an intellectual or academic nature, such as debates, are also organised from time to time.these provide a most interesting contrast to the remainder of our functions. all of our functions are accompanied by traditional home-cooked parsee food, such as dhansak. in what appears to be no more than a twinkling of an eye, we approached the 25th anniversary of the inception of nwzc, in the year, 2012. we now have, up & running, this handy website which you have stumbled upon.every member of our group is getting older, even those who were in their teens & twenties, & who have now flown the nest. these young ones can now be classified as thirty-something & i can say with a satisfying element of pride that every one of them has carved wonderful careers for themselves. however, the circle continues, & we have new members joining us every now & then. i am equally as happy to report, therefore, that some of these families have brought with them, the patter of tiny feet. our community is led by a strong committee which endeavours to ensure functions are held on a regular basis & enjoyed by all. since our humble beginnings, we have held many different types of functions like bollywood movies & pot luck, question time debates, blending outside food with home cooked food, etc. this has led to larger attendance figures at our functions with participation from community members as far as birmingham, solihull, leeds, bradford, huddersfield, blackburn, royal lamington spa, warrington & london. our community held a large celebration of our 25th anniversary in dec 2012 . a video of various memories of nwzc over last 25 years was created & launched with members sharing photographic memories & giving interviews with their families sharing their experience with the community. this event was celebrated on a grand scale & our founder members were given recognitions for their contributions to the community. this event also gave renewed optimism & impetus to the nwzc that it will exist well beyond the next 25 years & celebrate its 50th anniversary.s creative design ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco excepteur sint ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco lorem ipsum ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco -- our committee 2018-2019 committee - chairperson [email protected] - secretary [email protected] - treasurer [email protected] - youth officer [email protected] - committee member - committee member - committee member a beautiful story told in connection with the arrival of the parsis in india. the "parsis" name derived from the province of pars in ancient iran had to leave their motherland,their country because of religious persecution & reached the shores of india in the 8th century. they disembarked at the costal city of sanjan in gujrat. the then king of sanjan, jadi rana, was at first reluctant to let them stay.
